During my internship for Puma one of my first assignments was to create promotional materials for the Newport Boat Show in Newport, Rhode Island. Puma’s participation in Ocean Racing is to was focused on challenging the perception of sailing and to also make sailing more approachable and inclusive. Our design goal was to show sailing as an extreme sport that was fast, fun and all about teamwork. To show this, I created a banner for the Avanti Sailboat, which was on display at the Boat Show. Keeping with the brand identity and the project’s goal of accessibility, I designed a banner for the boat show to provide passersby with interesting facts about sailing and the Avanti sailing crew. Alongside the banner, I also created coupons for passersby, to encourage them to shop for Puma and Tretorn products.
